On occasion I’ll use words that are pretty random. While most are real words that are just not that often used, a few are some that are pretty nearly made up. This page is intended to help clarify those random words that I’m sure will have at least half of you saying “eh??” or if you’re not Canadian “huh??”
(yes i know this is still a new blog… that just means this page will be continuously updated.)
Most Often Used:
Goober – this is one that i hear other people use or maybe it just seems like they do. It’s mostly a silly word used to describe someone or their behavior when they are being silly. Occasionally it’s a person who is being a bit annoying in their silliness, though most often it’s the aforementioned silliness.
Less Used:
Uber – (pronounced like goober without the g – ‘oober’) This one is a hard one to define. I know it’s used by other people but i don’t think it really has a strong definitive meaning. For this one i have to refer you to the wiki, though you could probably pick it up with context clues.
People or Places in my Life (changed to maintain anonymity):
The Peanut – my child who happens to still be quite young
Peanut Gallery – your first inclination might be that this has something to do with my child when in actuality inclusion is only by default. When i refer to the peanut gallery i am referring to the family and friends – not necessarily people i am close to rather just people that i deal with in my daily life. – this would include parents, siblings -their spouses and children as well, friends/coworkers & various acquaintances. (I call them acquaintances because they are people -usually coworkers- that i see and deal with but don’t value them enough to call them friend.
Drop me a line if you spot one that isn’t on the list.
