I apologize for my absence, I am fighting a sinus infection and find that its hard to stay awake longer than 4 hours. I am going to blame Trent for my renewed enthusiasm for my previously chosen field. I have always been interested in health & beauty products and how they worked, how the body works and responds, etc. At the time I found aesthetics I had no idea there was such a field, I thought it was all blanketed by Cosmetology. I was actually looking into the hair school that was downstairs in the same building as the Aesthetics school, saw the sign and got curious. I thoroughly enjoyed it, i enjoyed my classmates the majority of which were already in a career they were really broadening their resumes and a few like me were right out of high school.
Now that you know a little more background, on with the show! So I happened to catch a bit of the Today show and they had a guest on who was running through some products. I didn’t catch the name of the segment, i might have been something like best drug store finds. The last product that was mentioned was something that I used to use and hadn’t been able to the last couple years because it wasn’t available in the few stores we have here. The good news is they just put in a CVS down the street and it opened a couple weeks ago. The product is a body lotion called AmLactin the active ingredient is Lactic Acid. The best thing about this particular acid is that it exfoliates and moisturizes at the same time. This product is free of fragrance however it does have a medicinal smell. So part of the secret is in the use, I suggest putting it on at bedtime. You can put it all over your body or just in trouble spots like feet, knees, elbows and upper arms. It may seem slightly itchy in some spots that’s the exfoliating process and will subside after a few minutes once the acid neutralizes itself. If you don’t want to wear it to bed then put it on an hour or more before your shower.
This really is one of the best skin care secrets, its especially good in the winter when your skin is dry and flaky. I know it is carried in CVS drugstores, probably Walgreen’s though we don’t have one here that I can check to say for sure, Just look around. If all else fails check out their site AmLactin.com. If you try it or already use it leave me a comment and tell me what you think.
